BSO selects three Arundel musicians for orchestra “Side-by-Side”

Three members of the Arundel High School orchestra were selected to perform with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) as part of the BSO “Side-by-Side” program.
Senior violinist Nicholas Pietrowski, senior clarinetist Isaac Businger and sophomore violinist Heewon Park all earned trips to the BSO program for the 2006-2007 season. Both Pietrowski and Businger were members of the BSO program last year.
Pietrowski and Park earned recognition earlier this year for being selected to the Anne Arundel County “All-County” orchestra, with Park being a 2005-2006 member of the Maryland All-State Junior High Orchestra. Businger is also an All-State performer, earning a spot in the All State Concert Band last year as a clarinetist.

Arundel High School Places 14 musicians on “All-County” Orchestra

Fourteen musicians from Arundel High School orchestra earned spots in the 2006-2007 Anne Arundel County “All-County” Orchestra, following auditions held in October at Annapolis High School.
Earning slots in the violin section were seniors Nicholas Pietrowski and Jennifer Nicholson; juniors Kara Cheamitru and Amanda Bartek, sophomores Heewon Park and Brian Brown, and freshman Katherine Garcia. Seniors Gina Han and Sara Kilby, along with junior Tricia Hyde earned spots in the viola section. Arundel also placed senior cellist Brittany Crumback and sophomore cellist Charlotte Hodges in the orchestra, as well as freshman bass violinist Nathaniel Atnafu and senior trombonist Virgil Boysaw.
The first All-County Orchestra rehearsal date is November 27 from 7 to 9 p.m., with all rehearsals slated for Annapolis High School. Rehearsals will also take place on December 7 from 5:30 to 9 p.m., December 8 from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., and December 9 from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The All-County Orchestra concert is scheduled for Annapolis High School on December 9 at 7:30 p.m.
